Bermuda – Measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus

23 March, 2020

The designated operator of Bermuda, Bermuda Post Office, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that exceptional precautionary measures to minimize the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have been implemented, including the temporary closure of schools, many public institutions and places of business. All public transportation, including flights into Bermuda, have been suspended with effect from 20 March 2020, and affected individuals are required to self-quarantine.

These measures are having a direct impact on postal operations and service quality. Therefore, Bermuda Post Office is declaring a situation of force majeure with regard to all international letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items, as a result of the global spread of COVID-19.

Bermuda Post Office thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding. It will update them of any relevant changes via EmIS.
